We now have the space we need to build the new fireplace
Hearth in
Raised slightly, so the customer and slide their new wood flooring in, underneath.
Lining done
The whole inner chamber is now lined with A1 rated fireproof board. Registration plate installed and chimney lined.
Brick slipping begun
Here the rear of the chamber is now lined with brick slips. This gives the appearance of a brick fireplace, but without wasting the space.
Slips to side walls and front
Ready for pointing.
Mantel in
Solid Oak Mantel set in place. The mantel is bolted to the breast and bonded, the support remains in place for 10 minutes, to ensure no risk of failure.
Pointing complete
All pointing completed and now looking like a traditional brick fireplace, that has been there for decades. Hearth polished, ready for the stove.
